Exeter – Wayne C. Raymond, 77, of Exeter died on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Exeter Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
 
A lifelong resident of Exeter he was born March 17, 1936 the son of the late Ellery S. and Florence (Jones) Raymond.  Wanye married Theresa B. (Plouffe) on April 27, 1957 and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage.
 
He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, was a firefighter for the Town of Exeter for 50 years and the Town of Brentwood for 5 years. Wayne was a member of the Exeter Fireman’s Relief Association, past president and vice president for 20 years, Brentwood Fireman’s Association, Exeter Firefighters Association, Current Vice president of the Interstate Emergency Unit for 50 years, New Hampshire State Fireman’s Association, Executive Board for 15 years, Past supervisor of the checklist for the Town of Exeter, Trustee of the Swasey Parkway, Exeter Lions Club, member of the St. Michael’s Church Choir.  He was voted Firefighter of the year in 2010.
 
He will be remembered for his contagious smile, dedication to his town, especially his wife and family.
 
Family members include his wife of 56 years, Theresa Raymond, his children, Gary Raymond and his wife, Laurie, Wayne Raymond and his partner, Michelle, Patricia Stewart and her husband, Glenn, his grandchildren, Natasha, Lucas, Mitchell, Matt and Emily; his great grandson Daegan; his sister, Shirley Munroe, brother, Bobby Raymond and his wife, Jean, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
 
He was predeceased by his brother Jimmy Raymond and daughter-in-law Gail Raymond.
 
Visiting hours will be at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, on Thursday, November 14, 2013  from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Friday, November 15, 2013 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Exeter Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NH Police, Fire and EMS Foundation, PO Box 520, Epping, NH  03042.
